May 17, 2021 — It looks like in-person conferences are making a comeback. The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, Inc. (HIMSS) 2021 Conference, scheduled for August 9-13 in Las Vegas, will be one of the first to take a step back to normalcy. Today HIMSS issued a statement saying that "In designing HIMSS21 for an evolving world, HIMSS is prioritizing the health and safety of all attendees, exhibitors and staff. We are taking a comprehensive approach to safety protocols as we plan a robust, interactive, in-person event in Las Vegas, Nevada, as well as substantial digital programming."

To begin this process, HIMSS has launced the HIMSS21 Health and Safety Hub, where it will provide detailed health and safety guidance along with ongoing updates. Prospective attendees and exhibitors can visit the link to get information on:

  • Right of entry protocols (including a vaccination requirement)
  • Additional on-site health and safety measures

Information on these topics, as well as frequently asked questions (FAQs) and external resources, is now available. HIMSS will continue to provide updates as it moves closer to HIMSS21 and further refines details around what it will look like to be together again.
