Flat panel display manufacturer recognized for Coronis Uniti display system with Intuitive Workflow Tools

Barco Receives Frost and Sullivan Award for Technology Leadership in Medical Displays

October 23, 2019 — Healthcare imaging specialist Barco received the 2019 Frost & Sullivan Award for Technology Leadership in the Multi-modal Medical Display Industry for the Coronis Uniti display system with Intuitive Workflow Tools.

One of the worldwide renowned consulting firms, Frost & Sullivan presents annual awards to companies that promote innovation, set trends and create advanced technologies that are bound to change the future landscape of industries.

This year, Barco has the honor to receive the Frost & Sullivan Award for Technology Leadership in the Multi-modal Medical Display industry for the Coronis Uniti display system with Intuitive Workflow Tools. “Coronis Uniti is indisputably a technological trailblazer in the field of multi-modal medical display monitors, proving far superior to all of its competitors,” explained David Frigstad, chairman of Frost and Sullivan.

Coronis Uniti is a Barco flagship product designed for multimodality imaging and proven to improve efficiency and detection, according to the company. The 33-inch display with powerful brightness delivers a unique representation of calibrated color and grayscales. This 12 megapixel screen delivers sharp and precise images and consistent, perceptually linear color.

“Barco’s Coronis Uniti is a next-generation medical display monitor that is a product of the company’s tremendous capabilities in terms of combining innovation and technological advancement,” commented Deepak Jayakumar, Frost & Sullivan’s senior research associate. “The feature-rich design of Coronis Uniti results from deep understanding of radiology workflow and exact solutions needed to tackle the challenges radiologists face in their day-to-day routine.”

Capable of both static and dynamic imaging, Coronis Uniti is a universal radiology display that will enable radiologists to unify their workflow by combining picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) and breast images on one workstation. The distinctive design and features of Coronis Uniti improve ergonomics in the reading room to help reduce eye fatigue for radiologists.

Included with all Coronis Uniti display systems is a set of clinical workflow tools designed to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of radiology reading. “Frost & Sullivan considers the SpotView tool a perfect example of Barco demonstrating its superior grasp on technology — as well as properly understanding radiologists’ requirements,” said Jayakumar. “The Intuitive Workflow tools are a game-changer in terms of improving workflow efficiency and enhancing radiologists’ reading assessment. The Intuitive workflow tools enhance the user-experience of Coronis Uniti by facilitating improved image analysis, lower radiation doses needed for scans, increased reading accuracy, and reduction in perceptual errors and time needed for analysis,” he continued.
