New module for RIS/EHR solution designed to help eligible physicians qualify for reimbursement bonuses under Merit-based Incentive Payment System

January 3, 2018 — medQ Inc. recently announced the launch of its Q/ris MIPS Reporting module. This module is designed to enable eligible physicians, who do significant Medicare work to qualify for fully reimbursement under the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS). medQ identified a number of quality performance measures and improvement activities appropriate for imaging operations, and has created a data collection and reporting tool and dashboard to view progress in meeting these goals. The module is available as an upgrade to their Q/ris 3000 radiology information system (RIS)/electronic health record (EHR) for those who need to comply with MIPS, as of the fourth quarter of 2017.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has launched their MIPS initiative, designed to replace other reporting programs, such as the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) and Meaningful Use (MU). Participation is required as of 2017 to take advantage of the full benefits of the program. MIPS is a phased roll-out and could result in up to 9 percent in additional Medicare payments.
