Partnership will see MedCurrent’s clinical decision support platform, OrderWise, integrated into InteleConnect EV

Intelerad Announces Partnership With MedCurrent

November 13, 2017 — Intelerad Medical Systems announced a partnership that will see MedCurrent’s OrderWise clinical decision support platform (CDS) integrated into Intelerad’s enhanced clinical portal, InteleConnect EV.

Designed to streamline ordering workflow, MedCurrent’s OrderWise platform assesses radiology orders and provides real-time recommendations based on appropriate use criteria (AUC) and other clinical guidelines. In addition to fulfilling Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) requirements in the United States, OrderWise also satisfies AUC Program requirements for ordering advanced diagnostic imaging services for Medicare outpatients. The OrderWise framework is designed to integrate clinical content from any source or clinical specialty, including AUC from qualified provider-led entities (qPLEs) such as Intermountain Healthcare, National Comprehensive Cancer Network and the American College of Cardiology. In the international healthcare market, MedCurrent delivers the evidence-based iRefer referral guidelines from the Royal College of Radiologists (UK) through OrderWise.

Through Intelerad’s MedCurrent integration, referring physicians both in North America and internationally will be able to access OrderWise directly within InteleConnect EV’s interface. Once the physician locates their patient, they will be able to easily launch OrderWise with a single click. From there, OrderWise will analyze the clinical scenario and provide evidence-based recommendations on ordering appropriateness. The resulting order will be sent to Intelerad’s radiology information system (RIS) offering, or any other third-party RIS application, to complete the end-to-end workflow.
