New software release includes modules for point-of-care ultrasound and web platform for endoscopy documentation and physician reporting

November 6, 2017 — International clinical media platform and video informatics company Orpheus Medical announced the expanded use of its Clinical Media Platform at several teaching institutions and marquee children's hospitals. The new implementations cover a wide range of clinical areas, including surgical suites, endoscopy (GI, pulmonary and ENT), digital image capture using mobile devices, as well as live streaming and collaboration from the catheterization and electrophysiology labs and dermatology surgical procedure rooms. This coincides with the release of the latest versions of Orpheus Web and Mobile.

Orpheus Medical's offering at the 2017 Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Annual Meeting, Nov. 26-Dec. 1 in Chicago, will demonstrate how the company's solutions simplify the convergence of clinical media from varied departmental silos into the hospital's enterprise imaging platform and tightly connected to the electronic health record (EHR). Hands-on demonstration and case study discussions will highlight the increased care coordination and documentation efficiencies delivered by the Orpheus Clinical Media Platform.

The Orpheus solution is designed to enable clinicians across specialties to practice live and on-demand collaboration securely from any location while increasing patient and referring physician engagement and satisfaction.

The platform supports both order-based and encounter-based workflows that ensure accurate documentation into the patient record without changing the departmental workflow, according to Orpheus CEO Gaddi Menahem. For example, the Orpheus Clinical Media Platform simplifies point-of-care ultrasound imaging workflow by delivering a DICOM modality worklist without the clinicians having to adopt a radiology information system (RIS)-driven workflow if it does not make sense.

The platform also integrates tagging features that ensure every media file has the necessary clinical context to make it meaningful and searchable on the enterprise imaging platform and from the EHR.

The new zero-footprint structured clinical reporting module is purpose built to allow for the flexibility of documentation in various clinical settings, including built-in templates that cover all the gastroenterology workflow: physician reporting, capturing and tracking quality measures and GIQuIC registry submission requirements. The configurable module allows the use of the same reporting engine to cover documentation requirements in the GI, pulmonary, ENT and all point of care ultrasound settings.

Orpheus Medical solutions will be on display at RSNA 2017 in the booths of Change Healthcare and Agfa Healthcare.
