Dashboards let facilities measure exam volume, radiologist performance and referring physician ordering preferences in a customizable workflow

Konica Minolta Introduces New Performance Dashboards for Exa PACS

November 2, 2017 — At the 2017 Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), Nov. 26-Dec. 1 in Chicago, Konica Minolta Healthcare Americas Inc. will introduce new functionalities including Performance Dashboards on the Exa Enterprise Imaging solution. Other recent enhancements to the Exa platform include non-DICOM data viewing capabilities and a customized workflow engine.

A Custom Workflow Engine Design and reporting dashboard sets Exa apart from competitors, according to Konica Minolta. With the addition of Performance Dashboards, facilities can measure daily exam volume, radiologist performance and referring physicians ordering preferences. Administrators and department managers can easily create their own customized reports to efficiently get the data that is most relevant for their practice or organization. Exa also facilitates the sharing of multispecialty medical images and reports via referring physician, patient and attorney portals. The platform enables outside facilities to safely access pertinent patient data via Image Exchange, which eliminates the need for sending or bringing image CDs.

Exa is the only enterprise imaging solution, according to the company, that offers a diagnostic-quality zero footprint universal viewer for DICOM and non-DICOM images, including nuclear medicine and echocardiograms; Server-Side Rendering for fast access to large files, such as 3-D mammography,1 with no prefetching required; and cybersecurity with no data transferred to or stored on workstations to minimize unwanted exposure to patient data. For women’s health departments and clinics seeking to consolidate viewing, it offers universal viewing of images from a single workstation.

The Exa platform — comprised of multiple modules including picture archiving and communication systems (PACS), radiology information systems (RIS), electronic health records (EHR) and specialty viewers — was developed to enable each site to design its own preferred imaging workflow, very simply, with drag and drop tools. The entire step-by-step process can be customized quickly and easily. Additionally, the Exa modules can be used as an integrated solution or individually with a facilities existing software investments, further enhancing an organization’s return on investment.
