Siemens Healthineers Announces Closing of Medicalis Acquisition

After announcing the planned expansion of its Population Health Management (PHM) offerings through the acquisition of San Francisco-based company, Medicalis Corporation, Siemens Healthineers confirmed that the official closing of the deal occurred June 1, 2017. In integrating Medicalis’ offerings into its PHM portfolio, Siemens Healthineers gains the expertise and solutions to provide workflow orchestration and clinical decision support to health systems, while delivering desired service levels at lower costs and  improving quality and productivity for healthcare providers.

“This acquisition allows us to extend the Siemens Healthineers strategy for Value-Based Healthcare, by helping to optimize both utilization and departmental clinical workflow. In this way, we intend to support best practice care pathways and the reduction of unwarranted variation for high-impact conditions,” says Robert Taylor, Head of Digital Services Population Health Management, Digital Health Services, Siemens Healthineers. “Thus, by driving value through in-vivo and in-vitro diagnostics, we continue as a trusted partner to enable healthcare providers worldwide to improve medical outcomes and reduce costs.”
