May 24, 2017 — Image Diagnostics Inc. (IDI) recently unveiled the Uni Diagnost, the first integrated multipurpose imaging table, light and camera platform at the American Urological Association (AUA) annual meeting, May 12-17 in Boston.
The Uni Diagnost UD1 features a configurable low attenuation urology table top, integrated examination light camera tower and monitor boom arms. The system can be installed in a day, requires no special electrical considerations and can be configured to any room, leaving the smallest footprint among other equipment options on the market, according to IDI. Providing superior bilateral clinical access and lower potential dose to staff, it increases safety while maximizing use of surgical assets (mobile C-arms) and room multi-functionality.
Other fixed table products feature smaller monitors (19-24 inches) and large X-ray based imaging systems, according to the company. They require extensive room and power renovations with yearly service contracts, costing tens of thousands of dollars every year. The UD1 is built for maximizing the camera image and features a boom mounted 31-inch 4K ultra-high definition (UHD) monitor and other monitor options. Utilizing the C-arm as the X-ray source provides many direct and indirect benefits, including lowering the potential dose exposure to the staff because of the reversal of the X-ray source (fixed versus C-arm), superior scatter shielding concepts and utilization of OR assets when not needed (C-arm).
