Advanced VNA capabilities, including live streaming and virtual conferences enhance cross-department and multi-site collaboration with a focus on patient-centric care

Agfa Healthcare, Enterprise Imaging, RSNA 2016, new version, patient-centric care

October 18, 2016 — Agfa HealthCare announced today that it is releasing a new version of its Enterprise Imaging platform. Customer-driven enhancements include academic, multi-site, radiology and additional specialty workflows for medical imaging.

The platform also has additional modules that can support the extensive demands of research and teaching programs. For example, the latest version of Agfa HealthCare's Enterprise Imaging for Radiology enables virtual conferences via a browser using the universal Xero viewer, further enhancing seamless collaboration between radiologists and clinicians. In addition, Video Management, powered by Orpheus, enables remote viewing of live cases in the operating room and real-time audio and video consultation. Surgical videos, endoscopies and supported multimedia can all be live-streamed.

Advanced workflow capabilities and intelligent rules have been embedded in the VNA (vendor neutral archive), helping healthcare organizations address their archiving needs. Images can be prefetched and prior studies quickly retrieved, enhancing the information available to radiologists and clinicians. The new multisite capability enables patient images to be retrieved from multiple hospitals using a single query.

The reach of Enterprise Imaging has been extended into two new, medical image-heavy specialties: dentistry and ophthalmology. Dental and ophthalmology specialists can view their studies in their familiar sequence, while study-specific, automatic hanging protocols save time and improve efficiency.

Enterprise Imaging Business Intelligence makes a wealth of information accessible through reports and tools that provide historical, current and predictive views of operations. The software with analytics and management reports boosts efficiency in today's value-based care world.
