Multimedia image tracking contributes to state and federal regulatory requirements

Novarad, MARZ Patient-Centric Universal Viewer, SIIM 2016

July 1, 2016 — Novarad exhibited its latest advancements in universal viewing technology at the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) conference and exhibition, June 29-July 1 in Portland, Ore. This included the ability to track and monitor the access and usage of not only DICOM, but clinical, non-DICOM multimedia.

The MARZ Patient-Centric Universal Viewer helps providers comply with physical, technical and administrative requirements by providing secure data storage both on- and off-site, a secondary backup of all patient data, an easily accessible audit trail for clinical multimedia and system-wide data encryption.

The Viewer also allows physicians, nurses and other staff to access and view both DICOM and non-DICOM information on any device through a Web browser. For such clinicians, this means they can view diagnostic images, visible light images, labs, reports and even Internet links in the same place.
