Show offerings to include latest releases of Synapse PACS and VNA

Fujifilm USA, SIIM 2016, Synapse 5, PACS, VNA

June 30, 2016 — Fujifilm Medical Systems U.S.A. Inc. will present its comprehensive Synapse portfolio at the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) 2016 Annual Meeting, June 29-July 1 in Portland, Ore. The company’s lineup will include picture archiving and communication system (PACS), vendor neutral archive (VNA), 3-D, radiology information system (RIS), cardiovascular and mobile offerings.

The following are some highlights of what will be on display in the Fujifilm booth:

Synapse 5 – U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k)-cleared in February 2016, Synapse 5 is Fujifilm’s most recent innovation in PACS technology. Designed to boost productivity and accuracy, Synapse 5 delivers server-side image visualization, with a zero-download viewer utilizing a browser-independent desktop experience. Synapse 5 stands to save organizations significant resources due to less desktop management, and a dramatic reduction in bandwidth requirements, which many are currently consuming today with last-generation PACS technology. With no desktop caching there is no more secure way to deliver PACS, and server-side imaging offers the most optimal performance for large dataset reading like breast tomosynthesis. Fujifilm's large base of current PACS customers will be able to take advantage of the speed of Synapse 5 through an upgrade to their current system.

Synapse VNA – This solution is designed to help providers move to value-based healthcare by improving the management, access to and security of content included in the patient's medical record, while at the same time reducing costs. Synapse VNA manages all enterprise clinical imaging content, both DICOM and native non-DICOM, using the most secure, scalable single storage solution available. Equipped with advanced life cycle management tools, it offers organizations the ability to secure and enable control of all image data across the enterprise. A true enterprise imaging solution, Synapse VNA allows users to connect imaging content from more specialty clinical areas than any other system, according to Fujifilm. The newest generation — Synapse VNA 6.0 — further enhances the patient imaging record with an enterprise viewer that provides a single patient-centric view across the entire continuum of care.
