Canadian imaging group to deploy IntelePACS across 13 radiology clinics

Intelerad, IntelePACS, Imagix, Quebec Health Record integration, QHR, Canada

April 19, 2016 — Intelerad Medical Systems announced that Imagix Medical Imaging, headquartered in Brossard, Quebec, is deploying IntelePACS across their thirteen radiology clinics. Imagix will also use Intelerad solutions to connect to the Quebec Health Record (QHR), which is the province’s central repository of patient information.

"The QHR securely stores clinical information that’s produced by pharmacies, laboratories, radiology clinics and hospitals across the province. We are the first medical imaging laboratories outside of the hospital system to integrate with the QHR,” said Geneviève Biron, president and CEO, Imagix Medical Imaging. “This allows doctors and other healthcare professionals to rapidly access medical information and provide higher-quality healthcare to their patients. Through this integration with the QHR, Imagix demonstrates its full commitment to facilitating access to medical imaging examinations and treatments in Quebec, as well as our commitment to the communities we serve."

To date, Imagix has integrated five of their radiology clinics with the QHR. These are the first medical imaging laboratories outside of the hospital system to connect to the QHR. Between now and June 2016, Imagix will integrate eight more sites. Once all of their site integrations are complete, Imagix will contribute about 540,000 exams and reports per year to the QHR.

The exams which are added to the QHR will be accessible for consultation by healthcare professionals across the province. This provides clinicians with rapid access to patient images and reports, which helps eliminate unnecessary images, provide diagnoses in less time and improve the overall quality of healthcare delivered.
