Zagoudis named one of three recipients of the 2015 Young Leader Scholar award

ASBPE

Jeff Zagoudis, associate editor of the Scranton Gillette Communications’ Healthcare Group publications Imaging Technology News (ITN) and Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiology (DAIC), was recently honored by the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE) as one of its three Young Leader Scholars.

ASBPE announced the three winners of its 2015 Young Leader Scholarship on July 24 during its 2015 Azbee National Awards banquet in New York City. The scholarships were established in 2003 to honor up-and-coming editors, writers, and designers in B2B journalism. The winners have to be 30 or younger, spend at least two years in the B2B industry, with plans to continue in it for their career. The winners received a membership to ASBPE, free registration to the conference and banquet, and a two-night hotel stay.

Zagoudis joined SGC/SGC Horizon in June 2011 as a member of editorial services and during his tenure wrote features for the building and infrastructure publicationsProfessional Remodeler, Professional Builder, and Roads & Bridges. In February 2015, he became an associate editor on the Healthcare Group editorial team, where he regularly writes for both ITN and DAIC. He received a degree in Organizational Communication from Illinois’ North Central College in 2010, with minors in journalism and broadcasting.

“Jeff is a valuable member of the Healthcare editorial team,” says ITN/DAIC Editorial Director Melinda Taschetta-Millane, “and so worthy of this prestigious honor. It reflects not only his writing talents, but also his outstanding work ethic, dedication and journalism integrity.”

ASBPE was founded in 1964 as a professional association for editors, writers, art directors and designers employed in the business, trade and specialty press. Its annual Awards of Excellence competition is known and respected for honoring the best in editorial, design, and online achievement.
