Technology will help facilitate real-time exchange of patient vitals and health records

March 30, 2015 — Green Circle Health (GCH) announced the availability of its GCH Platform, an online patient-to-provider communications gateway. The platform enables the real-time exchange of patient vitals and health records among physicians, patients, family members and insurers. It leverages a patent-pending workflow to facilitate the collaborative sharing of data and enhance healthcare providers’ ability to proactively monitor, diagnose and treat medical conditions.

In the traditional healthcare ecosystem, patient data is typically gathered over a period of time by healthcare providers and reviewed during scheduled appointments. As a result, treatment is only implemented after medical issues have developed or worsened between physician or hospital visits. “The provider-driven healthcare industry is experiencing a major paradigm shift in which patient involvement is significantly increasing,” said Sanjay Parikh, M.D., medical director for pediatric cardiology and Children’s Health Center at St. Vincent Children’s Hospital and chief medical officer of GCH. “The GCH Platform is the missing link in the industry’s evolution from provider-driven to a shared endeavor between patients and providers.”

The GCH Platform maintains, monitors and transmits patient health information in real time to allow healthcare providers to deliver cost-effective treatment on an as-needed basis. The platform features advanced group monitoring to improve population health and increase efficiencies for clinical trials. In addition, insurers and employers can now monitor health behavior and incentivize lifestyle changes, reducing healthcare costs.

The platform is compliant with the Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act; it also supports every stage of Meaningful Use.
