Company intends to file U.S. FDA 510(k) application for 30-inch, 10-megapixel display

December 23, 2014 — Canon U.S.A. Inc. showcased a work-in-progress color display for mammography images during the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting, Nov. 30-Dec. 4 in Chicago. The display is being developed by Canon U.S.A.’s parent, Canon Inc.

Canon Inc. intends to file a 510(k) application with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration with regard to the display, but no assurances can be given that it will do so or that the display will be made available for sale in the United States. It is currently contemplated that the display will be a 30-inch, 10-megapixel (4,096 x 2,560 pixel) color display for mammography. The display is subject to change.

Canon U.S.A., Inc. and Hologic, Inc., featured the work-in-progress display in their booths during RSNA.
