HIPAA-certified solution for patient record archival and exchange

October 9, 2014 — SurDoc announced the launch of its SurMD DICOM Image Archival and Distribution (SDAD) service to aid medical and diagnostic imaging centers to securely archive and share test results with patients and providers. SDAD, from the SurMD line of products, is HIPAA-certified by a qualified third party, features cost effective pay-as-you-go plans and is designed to address the specific needs of diagnostic imaging.

Imaging centers can take advantage of the seamless integration provided by SDAD. VNA guaranteed, data is stored in native formats and can be downloaded in its original form for use at any time. The DICOM gateway works with any PACS server to back up and scan new data automatically.

SDAD admin portal easily locates patient records with intuitive built-in search capabilities and, with the click of the button, allows safe distribution of reports to patients or referring physicians for easier care coordination.

According to a recent survey by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMMS), security is a top consideration among healthcare providers choosing a cloud storage service. SurMD’s advanced security algorithms guarantee data protection, storing multiple copies of each file in separate data centers to protect against data loss. Each file stored is also encrypted with a unique non-deterministic encryption key.

SurMD, SurLink and SMAR are part of SurDoc, a provider of next-generation ultra-secure cloud services.
