The software is compatible with complete Viztek DR product line, providing single-screen exam management for faster workflow

Viztek Ultra DR Software Radiology Workflow X-ray System AHRA 2014

August 1, 2014 — Viztek will showcase its new Ultra Digital Radiography (DR) software at the upcoming Association for Medical Imaging Management (AHRA) annual meeting in Washington, D.C., Aug. 10-13. The new software is compatible with Viztek’s complete DR product line and sold with the company’s passive trigger technology.

“Ultra was created to enable imaging departments to manage exams with one screen for the technologists, enabling significantly improved workflow and more time focused on the patient. Everything that needs to be viewed can be managed on just one screen,” said Bruce Ashby, general manager, Viztek. “Continued imaging innovation is just — if not more critical — for improved workstation software as it is for the advancement of new panels. Ultra addresses the needs of technologists who are on the front lines with patients and balancing the best of care with department productivity.”

Viztek’s Ultra DR imaging software is making imaging smarter and broadening capabilities for radiologists and technologists. While other imaging software requires multiple screens for editing, Ultra allows everything to be done on one screen, improving the overall workflow and allowing more time for patient care. The software is customizable, allowing physicians and technologists to preset the user-friendly controls to capture the necessary views to make a confident diagnosis. The ability to maneuver the hardware for optimal flexibility for patient examinations also increases the radiology workflow and decreases the wait time for patients.

Technology Combo Provides First-of-its-kind Software Advancements

Together, Viztek’s Ultra software and passive trigger technology allow it to detect an X-ray source and turn on automatically without any need to interface between generator and panel. Viztek is fast-tracking standard DR imaging software and providing first of its kind software advancements with Ultra and passive trigger technology.

Other benefits of the new Ultra software include:

  • Advanced stitching algorithms to provide the best images possible and also help to eliminate retakes.
  • Advanced foldering capabilities, which benefit physicians as well as administrators because of the separate protocol, events listed and individual billing codes.
  • Lower dose with the Ultra pediatric imaging initiative software, and when used in conjunction with the Ultra wireless plan that uses cesium iodide (CsI) detector for excellent image quality at lower doses.
  • Windows 8/7 tablet capability
