May 23, 2014 — Visage Imaging Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Pro Medicus Ltd., exhibited the latest release of the Visage 7 enterprise imaging platform at the 2014 Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) annual meeting in Long Beach, Calif. The latest release, version 7.1.5, includes optimized navigation and tools and significant speed enhancements to Visage 7’s performance with massive digital mammography and digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) studies. Visage 7 enables enterprise imaging with fast, thin-client, server-side processing technology, as well as simple mobile access to imaging results via Visage Ease.

Unlike Web-based PACS (picture archiving and communications systems), client/server PACS and dedicated DBT workstation offerings, Visage 7’s server-side architecture does not require expensive network upgrades or pre-fetching of massive DBT studies to the diagnostic workstation prior to interpretation. Instead, the solution provides near immediate display of DBT studies, and any other diagnostic modality, over existing networks down to consumer broadband speeds.

“Visage 7 is truly a magical departure from legacy PACS,“ said Brad Levin, general manager, North America, Visage Imaging. “With all legacy approaches, large studies such as DBT have to be sent in their entirety, in advance, to the local client prior to interpretation. Visage 7 does not have this significant limitation.”
