Cloud-based image sharing, EHR and PHR solutions to be featured at radiology conference

pacs remote viewing systems electronic medical record RSNA 2013 DR emix RIS EMR

November 14, 2013 — Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) vendor DR Systems will exhibit new capabilities designed to increase the quality and efficiency of patient services at the Radiological Society of North American Annual Meeting (RSNA) 2013. Also on display will be the Unity RIS (radiology information system), an imaging solution running in virtualized environments.

eMix, DR Systems' cloud-based solution for image sharing and report delivery, will be unveiling its new Instant Sender platform at RSNA. Instant Sender allows any patient, doctor or facility to quickly and confidentially deliver medical imaging exams, reports and other medical information to any recipient. No setup, registration or contract is required. The recipient can view images and information using a zero-download viewer or route to a PACS. The solution is available at the company’s website.

Also on exhibit will be DR Systems’ cloud-based, complete certified eHR for Meaningful Use. eHR provides a simple mechanism for eligible professionals, eligible hospitals and critical access hospitals to improve patient care and qualify for federal bonus payments by complying with the objectives established by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). To date, DR Systems has enrolled more than 2500 physicians in its MU compliance program. The combination of the DR Systems eHR and closely linked Health Companion PHR provides a patient engagement tool that can be used to both pre-register patients and securely deliver reports via the web.

Florent Saint-Clair, vice president of corporate development, and Carol Osborne, associate product manager, eHR, will be speaking at RSNA about the impact these cloud-based products will have on patient engagement, meaningful use compliance, image sharing and connectivity to referring physicians’ electronic medical recrods (EMRs).

DR Systems will be exhibiting its Unity RIS, currently the leader in the KLAS 2013 trend report for large facilities, along with the full complement of modular Unity CVIS, PACS and reporting options. A multi-site practice can employ a single unified RIS worklist to launch and drive one or more PACS. It is also possible to launch the RIS/Reporting system from a third-party PACS. The company will also demonstrate the Unity system in virtualized environments, new solutions for breast tomosynthesis display as well as a solution for image fusion and digital subtraction.

At RSNA, DR Systems will be at Booth 3300 in South Building, Hall A. RSNA 2013 will be held Dec. 1-6 at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago.
