November 20, 2012 — RamSoft Inc. has partnered with M*Modal to offer embedded speech technology as an additional means of improving workflow for radiologists.

Speech Understanding by M*Modal is seamlessly integrated with RamSoft’s PowerServer radiology information systems (RIS)/ picture archive and communication systems (PACS), PACS and Tele Plus systems. It works with RamSoft’s embedded reporting tools such as structured reports based on RSNA guidelines as well as custom templates created by the end user. Speech Understanding by M*Modal is a cloud- based solution designed for any size radiology group and will be available on a subscription basis from RamSoft. As a cloud-based solution, management and synchronization of user and group profiles are handled automatically while the speech recognition “learns” and adapts based on user behavior/action to further improve recognition and understanding of clinical speech and language.

According to Vijay Ramanathan, president and CEO of RamSoft, the software developers at both RamSoft and M*Modal have done a phenomenal job to ensure customers can use speech recognition in a totally seamless manner. “The result of this partnership is the very highest productivity for radiologists,” says Ramanathan.

“Our highest priority is providing our customers and partners with the best speech technology and user experience in the industry,” states M*Modal President Michael Finke. “By embedding M*Modal’s Speech Understanding technology with RamSoft’s health information technology (IT) solutions, radiologists will experience unparalleled efficiencies in both workflow and reporting.”

PowerServer RIS/PACS, PACS, and Tele Plus are fully customizable, 100 percent Web-based image management solutions running on a single-database platform. They support all modalities and provide the stability, performance and security healthcare facilities require. The powerful workflow engine automates every aspect of the production environment thereby freeing up radiology professionals to focus on providing better, faster patient care. The optional ONC-ATCB Certified Complete EHR is designed exclusively for PowerServer RIS/PACS and Tele Plus to capture the necessary data to attest to Meaningful Use and qualify for grant monies.

RamSoft will be demonstrating PowerServer with M*Modal Speech Understanding at RSNA 2012; Booth # 600 in the Lakeside Center, Hall D – Nov. 25 to 30.
