July 17, 2012 — Sectra has announced an agreement with Matakina International Ltd. to distribute Volpara breast density software, fully integrated with Sectra breast imaging PACS (picture archiving and communications system)

This strategic agreement with Volpara software will provide Sectra customers an objective way to standardize breast density assessment, seamlessly integrated into their clinical workflow.

"Adding powerful software solutions to our breast imaging PACS will allow our users to maximize their mammography investment by providing all necessary tools on one workstation," said Mikael Anden, president of Sectra in North America.

Sectra breast imaging PACS is a Web-based multimodality workstation featuring advanced diagnostic tools, including integrated CAD (computer-aided detection) and reporting, that offers a single-system reading environment for mammographers. All digital breast images, even breast tomosynthesis, regardless of modality vendor, are automatically displayed in the same size with correct orientation and alignment, facilitating comparison of current and prior images.
