August 10, 2011 – Three Palm Software will support reading of digital mammograms on a single 10-megapixel high resolution monitor configuration at the workshop "16th Annual Mammography in Santa Fe," being held this week. All the major monitor vendors in the United States are participating at the workshop by providing display systems. Those vendors include NDSsi/DOME, Totoku/USEI, EIZO, WIDE/Double black Imaging, Barco, etc. The 10-megapixel mammography workstations will continue to be used in other mammography teaching courses, such as Dr. Tabar's course in Scottsdale. Ariz., this October.

The use of a 10-megapixel seamless 30-inch display is the next advancement for digital mammography. The bezel-less configuration of a single monitor helps to reduce eye fatigue for radiologists. With the unobstructed viewing space, Three Palm Software can implement a true chestwall-to-chestwall hanging protocol without any distracting gap and border between the mammography images. The gap-less hanging protocol is an effective layout for breast cancer detection when looking for a subtle asymmetric density or subtle density changes when comparing current and prior mammograms. The widespread availability of 10-megapixel monitors makes this a reality now.
