August 9, 2011 Viztek has just placed its 150th order for ViZion digital radiography (DR) panels since the product line was introduced to the market on February 15, 2011. The product line includes fixed and tethered panels that have been received with tremendous excitement in the market. This milestone brings Viztek’s total DR install base to over 200.

The panels have been sold to various market segments including mobile, urgent care, orthopedic, family practices and veterinary and are coupled with Viztek’s proprietary Opal-ACQUIRE software. There have been a significant number of panels sold as retrofit units into existing X-ray rooms with mobile X-ray machines, and with new U-Arm equipment.

With the retrofit scenario, a ViZion DR panel is introduced to an existing analog X-ray room. The room is converted to a completely digital solution, skipping right over computed radiography (CR), while still using the existing X-ray equipment. Viztek is providing dual detector DR room conversions for less than the price of many CR units, and without all of the complicated mechanical parts.

Viztek President Josip Cermin said, “The rapid growth of the new ViZion DR product line has been extremely exciting. It shows a clear need in the market for an economical DR solution that renders fantastic image quality and is versatile enough to work in new and retrofit environments.” He added, “The popularity in the mobile market has also been very encouraging. We are seeing significant trends showing more and more people replacing existing CRs for the new tethered ViZion DR.”
