The Codonics Virtua XR Medical Disc Publisher is the world’s fastest medical disc recording system, according to its manufacturer. The Virtua XR burns one disc a minute, over 60 CDs or 30 DVDs in an hour.
The Virtua XR is designed for high-volume imaging applications, such as breast MR, PET/CT, MRA and CTA, and is the only CD/DVD recorder that keeps pace with multimodality environments where imaging systems send tens of thousands of images every hour.
Setting the standard for medical disc recording systems, customized discs are recorded and ready to leave with the patient without any interruption to workflow.
The XR has two 50-disc input bins, holding 100 CDs, 100 DVDs or 50 of each. Virtua XR boasts two high-speed CD/DVD drives providing increased throughput and redundancy.
Users can select CDs or DVDs, or the software will automatically select correct media based on the size of the study. In automatic mode, Virtua XR records one or more studies for the same patient on a single disc without user intervention. Manual mode allows users to select specific studies to be recorded from the touchscreen or Web browser interface. The built-in printer produces professional CD and DVD labels.
