CIVCO will feature its C-Qual breastboard, Individual Head Support system and extension plates for its iBeam and iBeam EVO Couch-Tops at ASTRO 2007.

The C-Qual is a breastboard which provides the latest in IGRT-enabling design with an emphasis on patient comfort. The low-attenuating properties of the C-Qual provide a uniform treatment zone, reportedly ideal for the imaging demands of IGRT.

C-Qual’s advanced features bring new efficiencies to breast setup and patient treatment. The Sure-Set angulation support provides quick, secure elevation, while the C-Qual’s ergonomic design delivers a new level of patient comfort. The C-Qual is also light making it the clinician’s choice for efficient handling and setup in today’s busy departments.

CIVCO’s new Individual Head Support system provides customized head and neck support. The disposable device is composed of three components: the base the positioning foam (ENT or cranial), and a piece of thermoplastic. The product, used for over the course of treatment for one patient, contours around the patient’s neck to provide a high degree of comfort, according to manufacturer.

CIVCO has designed extension plates for iBeam and iBeam EVO Couch-Tops fitted for the Sinmed-style head and neck system, and is working on same solution for the Medtec-style type-S extension. These extension plates will be used as a cantilevered base plate without inserts in the area of treatment. This will allow IMRT treatment in the head and neck region over the full 360 degrees of gantry rotation.
