September 19, 2007 — Ear, Nose and Throat professionals can now obtain state-of-the-art Cone Beam CT technology from GE Healthcare.

Through an exclusive distribution agreement with IMTEC Corp., GE is now the sole distributor of the ILUMA Cone Beam CT Scanner to medical professionals in the United States. The ILUMA Scanner provides radiographic imaging for sinus, skull base, head and neck and temporal bone assessment.

The ILUMA delivers high quality medical CT image resolution with 14-bit images as thin as 0.09mm voxel size. Voxel size is the standard measure of 3-D image resolution.
The attractive, compact ILUMA Scanner is the lightest in-office CT scanner on the market at 770 pounds. Additionally, the scanner has a small footprint, which may be important to medical professionals where space is frequently a key consideration.

The ILUMA 3-D Vision Software was designed for ease-of-use but also provides a comprehensive set of 3-D tools needed by medical professionals. Among its available 3-D tools:
·Ability to automatically generate panoramic images potentially saving time.
·Volume rendering with image presets that may enhance workflow.
·Measurement tools for 3-D and 2-D images.
·Surface rendering of skin and soft tissue.
