October 26, 2007 - GE Healthcare will feature its LightSpeed, Discovery VCT, PET VCAR. AdvantageSIM MD and Signa MR scanners at ASTRO 2007.

Both multi-slice, wide-bore CT scanners, the LightSpeed RT and RT 16 offer ample wide-bore capacities, thin, high-resolution multi-slice imaging, 4D retrospective respiratory gating capability and advanced oncology applications that simplify radiation therapy planning.

The Discovery VCT offers a complete set of clinical applications to help physicians provide accurate disease diagnosis, staging, treatment planning and follow up a single, less invasive tool for efficient evaluation of disease.
Also featured is GE Healthcare’s next-generation volume PET/CT application, which helps clinicians diagnose, stage, treat and monitor tumors and other lesions in the body. PET VCAR (Volume Computer-Assisted Reading) is designed to optimize tumor management, allowing for early quantification and understanding of treatment effectiveness for optimal treatment planning.

The AdvantageSim MD provides a revolutionary planning environment to help clinicians improve treatment planning, optimize the use of high-precision therapeutic techniques in routine clinical practice while helping prepare for radiation treatment techniques and processes on the horizon.

GE's Signa MR scanners, available in 1.5T or 3.0T, provide fast, high-resolution imaging. The imaging provides excellent soft-tissue resolution for definition of tumor boundaries and critical structures, while MR spectroscopy enables tumor characterization.
