November 14, 2007 - Affiliated Computer Services Inc. today entered an exclusive agreement with New Age Systems Inc. to offer hospitals the BedReady system, a Web-based application to improve bed turnover, revenue, and patient satisfaction.

Under the terms of the agreement, MIDAS , a business unit of ACS, will be responsible for product management, marketing, sales, implementation, and support of the MIDAS BedReady system.

MIDAS BedReady adds real-time capacity management and patient processing functionality to the company's suite of healthcare solutions. By streamlining communications and automating workflow, BedReady can improve patient movement throughout the healthcare facility. Intelligent productivity tools integrate bed management, environmental services, and transport modules to enhance collaboration and accountability among key healthcare personnel. Its comprehensive reporting capabilities reportedly facilitate continuous assessment and improve patient flow and management.

Avery Cloud, Chief Information Officer of New Hanover Health Network in Wilmington, NC, advocates the benefits of the MIDAS BedReady solution, especially when integrating BedReady with MIDAS Care Management.

"MIDAS BedReady provides a complete suite of capacity management tools that result in better service to patients and physicians," Cloud said. "The integration of MIDAS BedReady and MIDAS Care Management gives us an end-to-end patient throughput solution that increases patient satisfaction and the financial performance of the organization."
