March 12, 2008 - D2 Sales LLC said today Carle Clinics of Urbana, IL selected the My Patient Passport Express for its kiosk-based patient check-in program.

The My Patient Passport Express kiosk has been customized specifically for Carle’s needs, featuring a 17-inch touchscreen, magnetic card reader, back-lit signature pad, bar-code scanner, biometric fingerprint reader, both an 80mm receipt printer and a 8.5-inch sheet printer, and 801.llg WiFi with WPA/WPA2 capabilities.

“Although we looked at several vendors, we found D2 Sales to provide the greatest flexibility in being able to customize the KIOSK to meet the needs of our organization and the software application that we were using,” said Michael Sutter, director of clinical services. “To date, we have received our first two KIOSK for our current pilot with 20 additional KIOSK coming over the next several months.”

The D2 My Patient Passport Express kiosk provides patients with the convenience of easy check-in, records updating, co-pay payment acceptance and wayfinding and mapping features. My Patient Passport Express has been in development for more than two years, and after extensive field testing in pilot hospitals nationwide was unveiled in February at the HIMSS medical technology show in Orlando, FL.
