May 12, 2008 – The ECRI Institute will host a one-day workshop to allow interdisciplinary teams to evaluate current models and share best practices for implementation of smart pump technology June 10 and 11.

The pump workshop will explain the state of the infusion technology market, the role of smarter infusion pumps in the field of medication safety technologies, pump evaluation and selection factors, implementation challenges and successes, how to assess your facility’s readiness and infrastructure requirements for implementation, workflow impact, wireless implementation, and a hands-on interaction with the latest devices, guided by on-site pump trainers is offered.

ECRI Institute, an independent nonprofit that researches best approaches to improving patient care, offers this session so hospital participants will have an opportunity to learn from presenters who will combine clinical considerations, information from medical device evaluations, and guided interaction with devices to teach acquisition strategies.

“Get the Facts on Acquiring Smarter Pumps” will be offered on two days: Tuesday, June 10 and again on Wednesday, June 11, 2008, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EDT at ECRI Institute, Plymouth Meeting, PA.
