This unique solution for collaborative diagnostic work improves decision-making efficiency in acute care, allowing physicians to efficiently set the care strategy in multi-trauma cases. It also serves as a platform for medical education, clinical conferences and virtual autopsies.

Sectra Visualization Table is a multi-touch screen medical display table that enables multiple users to collaborate around the table and interact with the large-size 3-D images generated by computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners. This helps physicians gain deeper understanding and insight into the functions and processes inside the body, for example, by visualizing different tissues and cutting through sections with a virtual knife.

Sectra has tailored its picture archiving and communications system (PACS) technology to power the visualization table. Sectra’s patented visualization techniques allow the immediate display of extremely large size datasets, such as high-resolution full-body scans. Another area of application is virtual autopsies, because the Sectra Visualization Table can reduce the need for surgical procedures.

Sectra Visualization Table has been developed in cooperation with the University of Linköping, Sweden, the Center for Medical Image Science and Visualization (CMIV), Norrköping Visualization Center C, and The Interactive Institute.
