December 14, 2010 — In response to the growing global demand for medical informatics systems, combined with the company’s continued expansion of its Synapse software and modality solutions product lines, Fujifilm Medical Systems U.S.A. announced a new global division, along with a realignment of U.S. medical business operations. These adjustments will enable the company to achieve a high level of product growth and innovation, while assuring that all cross-functional teams remain focused on the customer experience.

Over the past several years Fujifilm has significantly grown its medical informatics portfolio, while at the same time experiencing increasing product demand around the globe. With sights on strengthening and expanding the current product and services offering, working collaboratively with intra-company teams and providing a leading customer experience, Fujifilm has formed Medical Informatics Solutions – Global (MIS-G). This new division will continue to have its headquarters in Stamford, Conn., where the Synapse research and development teams reside and from where products continue to be launched for the global market.

Fujifilm veteran Masaaki Ohtsuka has been named Division President of MIS-G. He will lead both product development and global business development and planning, supporting the successful use and implementation of Fujifilm’s PACS, RIS, cardiovascular and 3-D products worldwide.

To help assure effective medical informatics deployment across the U.S. market, as well as to provide an integrated service and support model for all customers, Fujifilm has also realigned its U.S. organization. Bob Cooke has been elevated to Senior Vice President, with an expanded role that now encompasses all aspects of sales and marketing, as well as medical IT solutions delivery and integration, and greater alignment with the service organization.

Senior leaders supporting Cooke are Jim Morgan and Erica Rouleau. Morgan was promoted to Vice President, Medical Informatics, with responsibility for sales, product management and marketing for all Synapse products. Rouleau was appointed Vice President, Modality Solutions, leading the combined digital X-ray and women’s health groups.
