Patient-Friendly Environment on Display at RSNA

October 29, 2010 – A new patient-friendly environment for radiology will be on display at RSNA 2010. The Philips Ambient Experience, first unveiled in the medical imaging department of Nemours Children’s Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla.

“There’s a sense of curiosity and interest in the room itself that helps keep patients’ minds off of the actual exams. They feel a sense of empowerment when given the chance to choose their own environment," said Debbie Merinbaum, M.D., chairperson, division of pediatric radiology, department of medical imaging, Nemours Children’s Clinic. “We’ve also found Ambient Experience helps reduce patient movement, which can contribute to shorter examination times and increase throughput. The entire solution helps improve clinical workflow.”

In addition, Philips’ Healing Environment consultancy services will be showcased at RSNA 2010.
