September 29, 2010 — A new technology alliance is designed to enable healthcare professionals to securely and affordably access, share, transmit and store global diagnostic images and studies.

Allied Telesis Inc., a global provider of secure IP/ethernet switching solutions, and Hosted PACS Solutions, an application service provider (ASP) of digital radiology software, announced a technology alliance offering managed cloud-based picture archiving and communications systems (PACS) services to enable the seamless and secure transfer and storage of bandwidth-intensive imaging and diagnostic studies. Leveraging its hospital-grade infrastructure and equipped with managed networking gear from Allied Telesis, Hosted PACS Solutions ensures the timely, secure delivery of teleradiology information across diverse geographies to help healthcare organizations lower capital expenditures accrued, as compared with implementing an on-site PACS system.

Hosted PACS Solutions works with the GE Healthcare Centricity PACS-IW Web-based software solution for all modalities and healthcare environments. The Allied Telesis-Hosted PACS Solutions partnership marks the first-of-its-kind cloud-based PACS service hosting this software platform. They will offer a completely managed PACS solution, including network design, implementation, configuration and access to Hosted PAC Solutions’ HIPAA-compliant data centers, as well as maintenance, remote management and monitoring, and 24/7/365 support.
