September 15, 2010 — PDQ Mobile X-Ray has expanded its PACS and image acquisition for its fleet of eight mobile X-ray vans operating throughout central and northeast Texas, southeast Oklahoma and southwest Arkansas. It serves more than 100 nursing homes and imaging centers, as well as 30 home health agencies, including nursing facilities, rural clinics, private practices and individual patients at home.

The radiology service acquires, reads and reports on more than 1,000 X-ray exams each month. It strives to provide fast report turnaround and to service imaging sites throughout an expansive geographic area, including rural locations that are up to three hours from major metropolitan areas. PDQ added Viztek’s Opal–RAD Web-based PACS and Opal-CR to create an advanced, fast and reliable image acquisition and communications system.

To maintain its edge in the marketplace, PDQ Mobile wanted to take advantage of the latest digital imaging technology and conducted a search for a PACS vendor that could support its commitment to quality service and help fuel its business growth. The new Viztek Opal-CR scanners are compact, tabletop devices that make the most of a van’s limited space, while providing reliability and ease of use.
