September 15, 2010 — As the result of a new partnership, the Image-Arena advanced visualization software will be integrated into the Impax cardiovascular picture archiving and communication system (PACS). Agfa HealthCare has signed an agreement with TomTec to add its Image-Arena solution into Agfa's Impax Cardiovascular.

TomTec offers a wide range of 2-D and 3-D/4-D technologies for visualization, analysis, reporting and archiving of echocardiography imaging data.

Image-Arena will expand the functionality of Impax Cardiovascular by enabling it to offer analysis and quantification of 2-D/3-D/4-D data from a wide range of echocardiography systems. TomTec's Image-Arena solution will deliver a smooth workflow oriented towards the off-line analysis of echocardiography images, from basic echo measurements to advanced left ventricle (LV) wall motion analysis, 4-D mitral valve analysis or right ventricle (RV).

Both options function fully integrated with the Agfa Healthcare's CardioVascular Information System (CVIS), streamlining image review with structured clinical reporting. The TomTec integration with Impax is currently only intended for future distribution in Europe.
