August 23, 2010 — The Intego positron emission tomography (PET) infusion system is now listed with Novation LLC, one of the largest healthcare supply contracting companies in the United States. Novation is the first supply contracting company to list Intego and the first to list any automated infusion system for molecular imaging. Novation serves the purchasing needs of nearly 25,000 healthcare organizations.

Novation also secured contracts from commercial radiopharmacies to provide F18-FDG (fluorodeoxyglucose) in a multidose form, compatible with Intego. This is a significant departure from the unit-dose syringe F18-FDG distribution model, the industry standard in the United States. Multidose distribution and automated infusion using Intego creates an integrated solution for PET clinics to streamline workflow, personalize and minimize the F18-FDG dose to patients, and reduce radiation exposure to the technologist.

This first national supply contract is a milestone for Intego. "Working with Novation expands access to the Intego concept and reinforces its benefits. We believe multidose F18-FDG distribution with automated infusion is a smarter, safer, simpler way to practice PET imaging," said Doug Descalzi, executive director, Medrad Molecular Imaging. Medrad is a business of Bayer Healthcare.
