Clarity Soft Tissue IGRT System.

May 12, 2010 - There is a growing market for software developers to integrate 3-D radiation therapy software solution into radiation therapy planning and treatment delivery protocols at oncology centers.

One company attempting this strategy is Resonant Medical, a developer of 3-D soft tissue planning, image-guidance and adaptive radiotherapy products. The company announced today it has signed an agreement with Amerinet, a U.S. group purchasing organization (GPO), to distribute its Clarity System solution.

Through Amerinet, Resonant Medical will provide hospitals and cancer clinics with the Clarity System, an FDA-cleared solution that is both noninvasive and nonionizing for image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) for soft tissue cancers, such as prostate and breast. The Clarity System is designed to enable radiation oncologists to visualize the target anatomy during each step of the patient flow from simulation, planning through treatment.

This three-year agreement will allow all Amerinet members to purchase the Clarity System for soft tissue IGRT under the cost-effective product configuration solutions of the contract.

The Clarity Soft Tissue IGRT System provides a solution for any radiation oncology center. This technology is compatible with other makes, models or years of linear accelerator and computed tomography (CT) scanner.
