April 14, 2010 - There will be greater personal interaction, exchange, and networking among attendees and exhibitors, at the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine's (SIIM) 2010 Annual Meeting, June 3-6 in Minneapolis.

SIIM this year will debut two new additions to the integrated learning program: "Vendor tie-in" sessions and the Shared learning community.

"Vendor tie-in" sessions are adds to the educational program, allowing for the sharing of corporate vision in context with the educational material. By coupling the educational content with shared vendor experiences, attendees will be exposed to the practical aspects of implementing new technologies and to solutions for dealing with clinical and workflow challenges.

The Shared learning community will feature an innovation theater, roundtable and demonstration areas, IHE Kiosk, and "The Doctor Is In" booth. The 3rd Annual Open Source Plug Fest will be showcased along with product presentations and demonstrations by exhibiting companies.

At the annual meeting, SIIM is facilitating sharing of experience and discussion among attendees and exhibitors by offering to connect users of the same applications - picture archive and communication systems (PACS), radiology information systems (RIS), and reporting systems. SIIM will set up meeting rooms in the convention center, as well as social networking to help arrange off-site social engagements of fellow users.

As part of the SIIM integrated learning goal, SIIM faculty and exhibitors share the content from the educational sessions and learning tracks once established by SIIM to help leverage vendors' creativity for marketing to decision drivers who attend the sessions. This integrated process further fosters the attendance of corporate and technical personnel to interact with SIIM meeting attendees, making the time spent productive for all parties.
