January 14, 2010 - The leading Women's diagnostic centers today provide mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound, ultrasound and MRI, and guided breast biopsy, and these were the requirements for being distiguished a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
The Kent Hospital’s Women’s Diagnostic Imaging Center, which also recently achieved accreditation in both abdomen and pelvic ultrasound and CT imaging, was named a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence.
“This achievement does not come about easily,” said Jerrold Robins, M.D., Kent Hospital Chief of Diagnostic Imaging, and part of the team of radiologists who spearheaded the accreditation process. “Many people have focused their knowledge, skill and dedication to realize this important result. They should take great pride in this accomplishment.”
The center offers the latest in digital screening, including MRI breast imaging and a digital breast biopsy suite. It is currently has ongoing accreditation in MRI.
