Altus is a mammography marker and part the Beekley Skin Marking System

December 18, 2009 - Radiologists and technologists can use a new square-shaped skin marker to clearly identify areas of concern or pain that are not physically manifested in mammography.

The Altus skin marker identifies and documents nonpalpable areas of concern or pain such as bug bites, rashes and bruising. The square shape clarifies for the radiologist that the area marked by a square is different from any other physically manifested area of concern for a more precise interpretation of the mammogram with fewer additional views, callbacks or questions.

Made of low-density materials, Altus highlights an area of concern or pain with complete visibility of tissue detail below for both film screen and digital imaging. Altus is lead-free, latex-free, hypoallergenic and made with medical-grade adhesives.

The Altus is the newest addition to the Beekley Skin Marking System that employs various-shaped markers to identify and communicate specific points of interest directly on mammographic images.
