June 10, 2009 – Barco won a major display contract from Italian breast imaging systems provider IMS, Bologna, Italy, for the delivery of MDRC displays.

The displays will be integrated in IMS's Raffaello image acquisition workstations.

IMS opted for the 20-inch MDRC-2120 version featuring a resolution of 1600x1200. Compared to traditional review monitors, the MDRC-2120 shows digitally acquired images with better contrast and higher brightness, thanks to the high-quality LCD panel and preset DICOM lookup table. Advanced backlight output stabilization technology (BLOS) ensures fast power-up and continuous LCD backlight stability, which results in long-term image consistency.

“This contract with IMS sets a new milestone in a long-standing partnership,” explains Fabio Rotelli, Regional Manager for Barco. “IMS has been integrating our renowned Coronis 5MP diagnostic displays in its solutions for many years. Through this new agreement, Barco will become IMS's exclusive supplier of display products, both for acquisition and diagnosis.”
