June 5, 2009 - TomTec launches its 2D Cardiac Performance Analysis software as part of its CardioArena multimodality imaging solution at the American Society of Echocardiography Congress 2009, June 6-10 in Washington, D.C.

The company said the 2D Cardiac Performance Analysis allows cardiologists to study the behavior of the heart muscle quickly and easily. Quantitative assessment of displacement, velocity and strain in individual muscle segments is available. The diagnosis of pathologies like hypertrophic cardiomyopathy or dyssynchronous ventricles improves with this software and the decision for a cardiac resynchronisation therapy is then more confident, TomTec said.

The 2D Cardiac Performance Analysis uses a speckle tracking-based analysis tool that analyzes 2D data from various ultrasound machines. The user can utilize data from different ultrasound systems and is not limited to specific vendors. Already acquired studies can also be analyzed with TomTec’s 2D Cardiac Performance Analysis.

TomTec’s product portfolio encompasses a range of 2D and 3D/4D technologies for visualization, analysis, reporting and archiving of multimodality imaging data. TomTec solutions are applicable in the fields of adult and pediatric cardiology, as well as obstetrics, gynecology, radiology, and vascular imaging.
