April 6, 2009 - During HIMSS 2009, Merge Healthcare (OEM division) is showcasing two software development toolkits (SDK) including version 3.9 of the MergeCOM-3 DICOM toolkit, while also unveiling its new works-in-progress MergeCOM-3 HL7 toolkit.

The WIP SDK offers HL7 interfacing to integrate and optimize patient and exam information across the enterprise. Merge believes new efficiencies will be achieved in using these two toolkits together.

Also from Merge OEM is the Cedara WebAccess solution, a “zero-client” viewer that provides access to clinical documents and images over the Internet without a download component. It can be seamlessly integrated into an EMR or HIS front-end, providing ready access to PACS or XDS sources from a single workspace. A works-in-progress enhancement to Cedara WebAccess extends the solution beyond standard DICOM images to include viewing for data such as PDF, JPEG, and text.

For direct end customers, the Merge Fusion division will debut its new Patient Kiosk as a works-in-progress. The Merge Patient Kiosk is an avatar-based reception solution offering 24-hour personalized services to automate manual office tasks in medical practices, including check-in, message delivery and after-hour call dispatching. The customizable solution will improve patient convenience, while also optimizing revenue with streamlined workflow efficiency.
