June 3, 2008 – The Journal of Nuclear Medicine published a "Molecular Imaging of Cancer: from Molecules to Humans," created as a reference tool to offer practitioners access to the most recent advancements in cancer diagnosis and patient care management through molecular imaging techniques.

This peer-reviewed supplement is reportedly the first general reference book available for physicians and scientists to help familiarize them with the state-of-the-art concepts of molecular imaging.

Guest Editor Sanjiv Sam Gambhir, M.D., Ph.D., director of the molecular imaging program at Stanford University School of Medicine, has joined other authors in contributing noteworthy research articles, touching on topics including: the latest advances in molecular imaging instrumentation; tumor cell metabolism imaging; molecular-genetic imaging based on reporter gene expression and tumor receptor imaging.

The reference book is published as a supplement to the June issue of The Journal of Nuclear Medicine.
