December 7, 2007 – The University of Rochester, Department of Imaging Sciences 8th Annual Digital Healthcare Information Management System (DHIMS) Conference, formerly PACS, will be held March 25 through March 29, 2008 in San Antonio, TX, at The Westin La Cantera Resort.
The five-day conference titled “Getting Connected in Radiology…Interoperability & Workflow,” will tackle solving problems that impact interoperability, workflow and communications within Radiology and between Radiology and the other departments and healthcare personnel in the healthcare enterprise.
Conference focus has changed from an image-oriented meeting to an information-oriented meeting, directed to healthcare facilities, community hospitals and outpatient imaging facilities and academic centers, as well as the vendors that provide their clinical application solutions and hardware.
The show will begin with a day-long PACS Primer covering the ABCs of implementing a digital environment and the impact it will have on workflow and productivity of radiologists, technologists, PACS Administrators and referring physicians. The PACS Primer will provide a good foundation for those considering becoming a PACS Administrator, those needing a basic refresher course or a technology update on the essentials of operating in a digital environment.
