Health System Gets the “LastWord” with GE’s Centricity

GE Healthcare announced today that Valley Baptist Health System will upgrade its IDX “LastWord” system to the Centricity Enterprise (formerly IDX Carecast) solution, as part of Valley Baptist’s plan to provide caregivers with a complete view of a patient’s medical history electronically.
Centricity Enterprise is an integrated clinical, financial and administrative system that includes computerized physician order entry, clinical decision support and expert rules, while documenting all aspects of patient care. The implementation will provide access to patients’ medical records across its various organizations, including hospitals, physician practices and Valley Baptist’s rehabilitation programs. Physicians will also be able to log in from their offices, their homes and even while traveling by using the Internet, using a secure login name and password.
