Hospitals and surgical centers may be able to save thousands of dollars in disposal costs and help preserve the environment with the Megadyne Mega 2000 Soft Patient Return Electrode pad.
Designed to improve electrosurgery, patient care and comfort, the Mega 2000 Soft can also improve the environment and a hospital's bottom line. It is estimated that hospitals switching from disposable pads to the Mega 2000 Soft have saved more than 1.8 million pounds of medical waste and nearly $1 million in disposal costs, based on a 50-cent-per-pound disposal fee, since the introduction of the system five years ago.
Compared to small, peel-and-stick disposable electrodes that make contact with only a limited area of the patient's body, the reusable Mega 2000 Soft is 920 inches, extending the length and width of an adult torso. It also ensures full and safe electrical patient contact to minimize resistance and eliminate heat build-up, and reduces pressure, shear and friction to help protect against the formation of decubitus ulcers.
