IntraSafe Medical received FDA clearance to market its SureFlow Safety Infusion Device, a multiport access device that has both check valves and an aspiration port that connects to any “off-line” Y-site.
The device can also be mounted for stable one-handed delivery of up to four drugs.
The new configuration allows anesthesia providers and ICU personnel sterile intravenous access while reducing contamination opportunities inherent with stopcocks. To combat contamination, the device is preassembled, featuring swabbable Luer-lock connections and medium pressure one-way check valves on three ports. A single aspiration port with no check valve is also provided.
