May 22, 2008 – Aurora Imaging Technology Inc. said the Aurora 1.5T Dedicated Breast MRI System is immediately available to patients in Indianapolis and its surrounding areas at the newly opened Breast MRI North in the Breast Diagnostic Center of Community Hospital North, a joint venture with Irvington Radiologists and Community Hospital North.

According to the company, the Aurora System is the only FDA cleared dedicated breast MRI system specifically designed for 3D bilateral breast imaging.

“The Aurora Breast MRI system is an important addition to our comprehensive breast diagnostic center at Community Hospital,” said Jean Kraft, M.D., director, Breast Imaging, Irvington Radiologists. “The images produced by the Aurora System are exceptional. They have accurately identified occult cancers that couldn’t be felt on physical exam or seen on other imaging modalities. This makes a significant impact on our practice by helping us define the extent of breast disease in our patients. This allows a more accurate diagnosis, so the most appropriate and effective treatment can be planned.”
